Nanjing Immunophage Biomedical Co., Ltd. ("Immunophage"), a clinical-stage biotech company focused on developing potential first-in-class innovative drugs, received official letter from the Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International (AAALAC International) on October 21: following an on-site assessment and review by the Council on Accreditation, the company’s laboratory animal care and use program was found to conform to the standards set forth in the AAALAC International Rules of Accreditation, and was awarded Full Accreditation. The accreditation was granted at the highest level upon Immunophage's first application, and covers the company’s existing SPF-grade mouse and rat facility, located at Building 9, Treehouse 16, No. 73 Tanmi Road, Jiangbei New District, Nanjing. We believe that the facility will not only support the R&D of Immunophage’s internal pipeline, but will also enable Cobio Biotech, a CRO subsidiary of Immunophage, to undertake external preclinical R&D services, facilitating the synchronized global development, international collaboration and overseas regulatory filings of the pipelines of both the company and its clients.

AAALAC International is the most credible voluntary peer-review accreditation system in the global laboratory animal field. The mission and vision of the AAALAC International are to promote the humane care and responsible use of laboratory animals in scientific research and education, envisioning a world where animal welfare and scientific excellence are integrated. Its standards cover all dimensions, including animal housing environment, veterinary care, ethical review, occupational health and safety, end-to-end SOPs and personnel training, and represent the international benchmark for laboratory animal management and research compliance. It also serves as an important credential backing global pharmaceutical companies, CROs and research institutions in conducting international new drug R&D collaborations and supporting overseas IND filings. Attaining AAALAC International accreditation represents not only a commitment to animal welfare and ethics, but also directly safeguards the scientific validity, stability and reproducibility of preclinical pharmacodynamic, pharmacokinetic and safety assessment data, enhancing the global recognition of research data.

Notably, the Council on Accreditation specifically commended several aspects of Immunophage's work in its letter: the strong administrative support from the senior executive management team, the IACUC Chair and the Attending Veterinarian; the clean, well-organized and properly maintained animal facility; the dedicated, efficient and responsive management team; and the excellent animal health and welfare, as evidenced by the animals’ good body condition  and their display of normal species-typical behaviors.

Since its founding in 2016, Immunophage has been dedicated to developing innovative drug candidates for autoimmune diseases, oncological diseases and neurological diseases, with multiple pipelines advancing steadily into the clinical stage, while maintaining a consistently efficient pace of IND submissions. Immunophage has two research and screening platforms, one for small-molecule drugs and one for large-molecule antibody drugs, and possesses extensive experience in animal model development, pharmacodynamics, pharmacokinetics and preliminary toxicology studies. It also has a complete team capable of independently completing clinical submissions and clinical operations. The newly accredited laboratory animal facility, together with the company's in-house pharmacology and efficacy platform, constitutes the core foundation of the company's innovative drug R&D. The attainment of AAALAC International accreditation marks another milestone in the internationalization of Immunophage's R&D quality system.

We believe that this accreditation further elevates Immunophage’s global R&D competitiveness and external service capacity, facilitating joint research and preclinical R&D service collaborations with pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions at home and abroad, improving the recognition of data from both its internal pipeline programs and external service projects in submissions to international drug regulatory authorities, and supporting Immunophage's continued development of a globally competitive innovative biopharmaceutical and preclinical service platform.
